Newly Discovered Pyramid has pharaoh Ameny Qemau's name

Three Egyptologists have told Live Science that the inscription found in the recently discovered pyramid at Dahshur has the name of pharaoh Ameny Qemau who ruled about 3,800 years ago. This is the second pyramid at Dahshur that has artifacts bearing the pharaoh's name.

A vaulted brick tomb dating back to the Neo-Assyrian period (9th-7th centuries B.C.) has been discovered in Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. Among the discoveries are three clay sarcophagi.

$100 Million in Artifacts Shipped from Egypt & Turkey to US in 2016

US Census Bureau docs reveal that in 2016 about $50 million worth of artifacts were shipped from Egypt to the US and about $50 million from Turkey to the US. The highest amount from each country in at least 20 years. There are concerns that some of the artifacts may be looted or stolen.

New Dead Sea Scrolls Discoveries Made

Discoveries include:

-A new cave located found near the site of Qumran. Although no scrolls were found in the cave evidence reportedly indicates that the cave was once looted in the mid 20th century and the scrolls may be out on the antiquities market.

-15 new Dead Sea Scrolls fragments that recently appeared on the antiquities market and were recently sold to an undisclosed institution in the United States.
